STUDENT VOUCHERS AVAILABLE
Tampere Summer University has received funds from the Finnish National Board of Education for student vouchers, which can be used to cover entirely or partly the Tampere Summer University education fees.
TARGET GROUPS
The student vouchers are available for immigrants, unemployed, retired, seniors, university drop-outs and people with lower education.
•An immigrant is a foreigner who has moved
to Finland and whose home municipality (defined in Home Municipality Act
201/1994) is in Finland. Asylum applicants are not considered as immigrants.
•An unemployed is a person who, according to the Finnish
employment administration, has no work and is available for full time employment
or who is waiting for appointed full time employment to start. Also a person
who has been laid off temporarily can be regarded as an unemployed.
•A retired person is a person who, according
to the knowledge of the Finnish Social Security Institution (Kela) or Finnish
Centre for Pensions, receives pension and is not gainfully employed.
•A senior is a person who feels that one´s
age is limiting one´s chances or causing discrimination for instance
in working life. Summer University and the applicant will evaluate together
the applicant´s status and decide whether the applicant fits into
this target group or not.
•A person with lower education is a person
who does not have academic degree and who is not currently admitted to any
studies.
•A drop-out is a university student who
has dropped out his/her studies. Summer University and the applicant will
evaluate together the applicant´s status and decide whether the applicant
fits into this target group or not.
HOW CAN ONE USE THE STUDENT VOUCHERS?
The vouchers can be used to cover entirely or partly the Tampere Summer University education fees.
