Information on the Summer University of Tampere
The Summer University of Tampere organises Open University studies, further vocational training, language courses and preparatory courses for high school students all year round. We operate in Pirkanmaa, which is a province in south-western Finland. Education in summer universities is open for everyone regardless of age and previous education.
Annually about 4,000 students take part in our different short or long courses. Taken together, we teach approximately 15,000 lessons per year.
The Summer University of Tampere is administered by the Association of the Summer University of Tampere ry (established in 1955), which is composed of all regional institutions of higher education, municipalities, and individual members. Our operational area includes 22 municipalities in the Pirkanmaa region.
The supervising board of the Association of the Summer University of Tampere ry functions as the board of the Summer University of Tampere. (Opens to the Finnish section).
